大同火山群国家地质公园位于云州区东北部，面积129.9平方公里，是一座集游览观光、休闲度假、科普教育、科学研究为一体的大型综合性地质公园。大同火山群属第四纪地壳运动的典型遗存，是我国六大著名火山群之一，被誉为“东亚大陆稀有的自然遗产”和“火山地质博物馆”，也是世界上唯一发育在黄土高原上的火山群。大同火山群已知火山30多座，最著名的有黑山、金山、狼窝山、阁老山、昊天山等。
Datong Volcanoes National Geological Park is located in the northeast of Yunzhou County and covers an area of 129.9 square kilometers. It is a comprehensive geological park complex for tourism, scientific education and research. As one of the six famous volcanic clusters in China, the Datong volcanic cluster was formed in the Quaternary period. As the only volcano cluster on the Loess Plateau in the world, the Datong volcanic cluster has the reputation of being ‘a natural heritage of the eastern Asian Continent’ and ‘the Volcano Geological Museum of China’. There are more than thirtyvolcanic relief features distributed around the park. The most famous ones are Heishan(Black Mountain), Jinshan (Golden Mountain), Langwoshan (Wolf’s Nest Mountain), Gelaoshan (Old Man Mountain), Haotianshan (Heavenly Mountain) Mountains.
