九龙壁·Nine-Dragon Wall

九龙壁位于大同古城和阳街，建于明朝初年，是明朝第一位皇帝朱元璋第
十三子朱桂代王府门前的琉璃照壁，距今已有 600 多年的历史。龙壁高 8 米、厚
2 米、长 45.5 米，壁身分布着 9 条巨龙。大同九龙壁是中国现存规模最大、历史
最悠久的龙壁。

The Nine-Dragon Wall is located in Heyang Street of Datong Ancient City.
Dating back more than 600 years. It was built in the early period of the Ming
(1368-1644) Dynasty as a screen wall in front of the prince’s mansion of Zhu
Gui (1374-1446), the 13rd son of Zhu Yuanzhang (1328-1398), the first Emperor
of the Ming Dynasty. At 8 meters high, 2 meters wide and 45.5 meters long,
the wall is engraved with nine dragons. It is the biggest and oldest dragon wall
which still in existence in China.
